Ana de Armas is set to star opposite Tom Cruise in Deeper, a high-concept supernatural thriller directed by Doug Liman. The film follows an astronaut who, while descending into an unexplored ocean trench, encounters a terrifying and otherworldly force.
Originally penned by Max Landis, the script is currently undergoing a rewrite by Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise’s frequent collaborator on the Mission: Impossible franchise.

This marks the first on-screen collaboration between de Armas and Cruise, a pairing that has already generated buzz after their recent joint appearances. Both stars have reportedly started intensive diving training to prepare for the film’s demanding underwater sequences.
With a projected budget nearing $200 million, Deeper is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious horror thrillers in years. Production is expected to begin later in 2025, following the releases of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and de Armas’s Ballerina.
