Following on from his heroic efforts to encourage people to stay indoors and his donation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-CARES fund, international A-lister Akshay Kumar has gone one step further and brought together some of the industry’s biggest names to produce the song #MuskurayegaIndia to help India through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The star, who has been one of India’s leading film personalities, in the fight against the virus, has collaborated with Jackly Bhagnani to produce the music video which also features other B-town favourites including Tiger Shroff, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Kriti Sanon and Ananya Panday amongst others, all shot from their homes.
Expected to be a huge hit with fans, Akshay Kumar shared the video with his 39M Instagram followers: “All we need is a united stand. Aur phir #Muskurayegaindia! Do share with your family and friends.”
In addition to the music video, last night, the Sooryavanshi actor encouraged further togetherness during these times by lighting a candle for 9 minutes to stand in solidarity with the key workers in India such as doctors and nurses who are currently on the frontline. This was a campaign introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage the public to pay tribute to the courageous heroes of the nation.
In a powerful post on social media, Akshay, said: “Together we stand and together we will come out of this dark phase. Till then stay strong, stay safe. #9Baje9Minute”
