Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced the live-action Masters of the Universe movie, set for theatrical release on June 5, 2026. The reboot brings a modern take on the classic ‘80s franchise, with Nicholas Galitzine (Mary & George) starring as He-Man.
Galitzine underwent an intense physical transformation for the role, calling it “the role of a lifetime.” Directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee) and written by Chris Butler (Missing Link), the film blends epic fantasy action with emotionally grounded storytelling.
The confirmed cast includes Camila Mendes (Upgraded) as Teela, Jared Leto (Morbius) as Skeletor, Alison Brie (Somebody I Used to Know) as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba (Hijack) as Man-at-Arms, and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool 2), alongside supporting roles from Hafþór Björnsson (The Northman) and Kojo Attah (The Kitchen).
Filming wrapped in June 2025 at iconic UK locations like Wells Cathedral and Wookey Hole, standing in for the world of Eternia. After its theatrical run, the movie will stream on Prime Video.
