In Elegance Bratton’s deeply moving film inspired by his own story, a young, gay Black man (Jeremy Pope, One Night in Miami), rejected by his mother and with few options for his future, decides to join the Marines, doing whatever it takes to succeed in a system that would cast him aside.

Also starring Raúl Castillo (Wrath of Man), McCaul Lombardi (American Honey), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), Bokeem Woodbine (Halo) and Gabrielle Union (Bring It On), The Inspection is written and directed by Elegance Bratton (Pier Kids) in his narrative feature directorial debut.
